To 5 ml of water in a test tube, add one microspatulaful of aluminum powder. add one milliliter of?

concentrated HCl. what will happen if you will perform this procedures?

what will happen to the temperature before and after reaction?

is this exothermic or endothermic?

has it something to do with enthalpy? To 5 ml of water in a test tube, add one microspatulaful of aluminum powder. add one milliliter of?
2Al + 6HCl -%26gt; 2AlCl3 + 3H2.

Hydrogen gas will be evolved, and a salt of aluminium choloride will form.

Heat will be evolved, since it is an ';ACID-METAL'; reaction, so it's exothermic.

Thus the temp. after the rxn. will bet greater(hotter) than before.

All reactions, have to do with enthalpy, lol

;-)
