Can I bring powdered potassium aluminum sulfate (tawas) in my luggage to the airport?

I am afraid that it might be mistaken for illegal Cocaine (met amphetamine).

Well, I use it for my underarm hygiene... Not really fond of using roll-ons. I will be working abroad full time for 2 years. Don't want to be caught up with the dilemma of where to find some when I am already there.. So, I am planning of bringing a bunch.. may be 1/4 kilo will do.

Thanks! Can I bring powdered potassium aluminum sulfate (tawas) in my luggage to the airport?
In my opinion if the material meets the airline safety requirements you can pack it in your checked luggage. 1/4 kilo is only a little more than 1/2 pound, so that is not really very much.

If it could be mistaken for an illegal substance I would be sure that it is in a marked original package from the manufacturer and I would get an MSDS for the material and pack it with the material. An MSDS is a Material Safety Data Sheet. It will tell the TSA baggage inspector what he needs to know about the material if he becomes suspicious about it.

Good luck and 73 from the Fisherman
