My husband says the only option is chroming it because tightening down the bolts and the vibration when running will cause the paint to chip of and rust to form on the frame.Is there an alternative to powder coating a rear strut on a motorcycle?
Your husband is right and so is Ride On, you can use nylon washers with some lock tight, so the paint don't chip off but, you are still better off with chrome. Looks better too. :)Is there an alternative to powder coating a rear strut on a motorcycle?
Plate, polish, anodize, powder coat or paint( use plastic or nylon washers against paint.
Try RustSeal by KBS Coatings. It looks like powder coating when it is cured.

Either black powder coat or chrome - sorry but he's right.
