Will powder coating last in a swimming pool?

the ladder for my pool has been corroding and the paint is peeling off due to the chlorine? I've been pricing them out on the internet and they are more than I would like to spend. I am thinking about having the one I own powder blasted and powder coated but will the powder coating last in the water with chlorine in it? My guess is yes, seeing how most powder coating is made to withstand high heat and other chemicals like antifreeze and oil. Just wanted to hear what others have to say. Will powder coating last in a swimming pool?
Powder coat will do fine in your pool. There are a few different formulations to choose from ie. epoxy, hybrid, polyester, etc. Your best set for a pool would be TGIC polyester. It has good UV resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and is available in a wide range of colors. You can even have a color custom matched but it's rather expensive. Avoid epoxy-based powder coats as they don't hold up in the sun and will get ashy/chalky after about a year. For added protection you can chem-film and/or primer the item prior to powder coating. There are a lot of choices/options and any knowledgeable powder shop will be glad to sit down with you and discuss your specific needs. Good luck. Will powder coating last in a swimming pool?
Try epoxy coating instead. It will last a good while and is harder than other paints. Cheaper than powder coating.
The chlorine isn't the problem. The problem is the water being out of balance and dissolving molecules of metal from your ladder. You must maintain proper balance on the water to keep corrosion of any kind from happening. This means maintaining the pH, alkalinity, hardness, and chlorine levels properly.

That said, you can get it powder coated and it will last a long time, but only if you keep your water balanced. Otherwise you will have the same continuing problem.
you can get it powdercoated. but you must figure out how to remeve it from the cement.
yes it would hold up, but if the one you have is corroding then it is probably a lost cause. Depending on the severity of the corroding.
It would probably work, the 2 elements deteriorating your ladder is the chlorine and water, they would be blocked out by the paint, although I don't know how cheaply you can get it done, good luck.
