We are about to but a home built in 1930, and it has powder coated cladding, can we paint over it?

if the powder coating is in good condition then all you need to do is give it a good scuffing with steel wool then clean with turpentine and undercoat with an oil based primer and the top coat should adhere to it no problem at all. I suggest an enamel or spirit based top coat would be better than water based for this application. Good luck

PS I assume this is an Aluminium claddingWe are about to but a home built in 1930, and it has powder coated cladding, can we paint over it?
probably it is lime wash and the answer is no you cant unlessyou use lime wash againWe are about to but a home built in 1930, and it has powder coated cladding, can we paint over it?
IF it's Aluminum scrub it with TSP or a powdered laundry detergent hose it off ....Prime it with Glidden, Gripper primer with EB added to the primer EB=emulsion bond....for chalking surfaces then top coat as usual. A paint job on Aluminium siding should last 15-20 years
