Powder coating will hold up better than paint....just make sure you take it to a reputable shop....if done right you will have no problems...and like anything else, if not done right, you will.Powder coating vs. painting? what to do?
Powder coating, it's the way to go. My yz 250 has a powder coated frame and it has some scratches on it but I ride it like I stole it! If the powder coating is done right then you don't have anything to worry about, just make sure to ask if their going to ';bake it on';. That's what makes it really hard and last forever.
-i would powder coat it. powder coating is so much better than paint, the reason some chip is because it was not done correctly. all of my race car frames and headers are powder coated.
Powder coating is much more durable than paint.
One more vote for powder coating.
go with powder coated if its done right you will be fine. it is tough stuff.
