Powder coating is not a paint type of finish. It is more of a plastic finish that is sprayed on via an electrostatic gun. The powder is just that, fine powder that is sprayed from a gun. It is then baked in an oven for around 30 min @ 400 degrees F. This allows the powder to ';flow out'; %26amp; appear as if it was painted on. Powder coat finishes are about 7 times more durable then a painted finish.
